Description of the Presentation:

MOTEC:  Supporting Best Practice in Fieldwork Education

The newly-formed
Michigan Occupational Therapy Education Consortium (MOTEC) is a joint venture between all occupational therapy education programs in the state.  Our goal is to support best practice of fieldwork education for the ultimate outcome of strengthening clinical practice in all areas.  Whether you are an experienced fieldwork educator who regularly takes students from one or more programs, are considering taking your first student, or are a student yourself, we invite you to join us as we discuss how this alliance can benefit you.

Participants will learn the mission, vision, and long term goals of MOTEC.  They will be provided with first drafts of tools to help them understand the similarities and differences of all of the academic programs in the state.  They will engage in interactive experiences in order to enhance their own skills as Fieldwork Educators as well as maximize the student experience at their facility.
