Presentation # 23

Title:

Virtual Home Tour with Universal/Accessible Home Design Concepts
 Presenter(s):

Scott Anderle, PT, CBIS, CAPS

Description of the Presentation:
This innovative and thought provoking seminar explores universal and accessible home design concepts and principles.  The participants at the conclusion of this seminar will learn be able to define the seven principles of universal design as well as define and identify accessible design and be able to apply their new found knowledge to their client's home environment.  Participants will gain an understanding of the basic guidelines while embracing space relationships as well as specialty equipment for the home environment.
This state of the art virtual home software allows the roof to be lifted off of a fully universal and accessible designed home and lets the participant "fly" over and into the home and get a view from behind an individual in a wheelchair.  The participants can also get a 360 degree view of each room in the home while discussing multiple solutions to possible problem areas of a home environment.  This seminar allows the participant to explore the many options of universal and accessible home design principles and concepts for their clients.
