Presentation # 38
Title:
Getting Around the Farm
Presenter(s):
Kelly Kackley
Description of the Presentation:
Occupational therapists work with a wide variety of clientele. Farmers and farm workers can present a difficult situation due to the unique type of work they do, and the large, dangerous machinery and animals they work around. Michigan AgrAbility, an informative service for farmers with disabilities and chronic illnesses, has a program to help occupational therapists feel more comfortable in the rural setting. Focus will be on Michigan’s farming systems, farm culture, machinery, and examples of assistive technology that have been applied to client cases.
