 Title:
  A Team Approach to Creating Trauma-Sensitive Classroom Environments:
Concepts, Practice and Outcomes

 Description:
  The SW Michigan Children’s Trauma Assessment Center created and implemented the School Intervention Project (SIP) with the main goal being the infusion of a trauma sensitive classroom culture for children in Head Start programs and elementary and middle school populations. This presentation describes the framework for this intervention project, based on concepts of the Complex Trauma Model followed by a manualized description of the application of these concepts to classroom intervention. The results of a four year research study to determine the efficacy of the project will be shared along with distribution of the SIP manual.
